Thursday’s Deals

  • U.S. Bank’s Flexperks Visa is one of the most used cards in my wallet. For big spenders, its double points in grocery stores add up in a hurry. And they come in handy for those times when you aren’t able to use regular miles. Another feature just popped up…12 Gogo internet passes for cardholders. If you have the card, check for your other promos here.
  • Speaking of U.S. Bank, Lifemiles finally comes back with a good bonus on their card. The bonus has been 20,000 miles for a while. It’s back up to 35,000 and the card is worth looking at again.
  • I got an email from Giving Assistant. Not a good one. So much for that 5% cash back from Amazon. It goes away at the end of the month, so take advantage now.
  • A big selection in the latest edition of SPG’s Hot Escapes. I see the good-sized list of Starwood properties but I’m hypnotized by Maui (as usual).
  • Decent shot at a hotel room for New Year’s Eve here. Odds are probably better than usual for something like this.

World Series Tickets

Newbies, this one might be a little rich for your accounts. But those who are SPG-heavy have been known to redeem big points for big rewards. As any sports lover knows, World Series tickets ain’t cheap. Well, you can bid on them now if you don’t mind putting a dent in your Starwood balance. The bidding for Game 1 ends today. All games are available. If you’re overflowing with points, there’s a ton available at SPG Moments right now – World Series games, suites for basketball, Taylor Swift concerts, and a lot more. Worth looking at!

Free DeLorean Rides In NYC

If you’re a MileNerd as well as a Back To The Future Nerd, it doesn’t get much cooler than this…

Tomorrow, between 11 and 5, Lyft is giving free DeLorean rides in New York City. I tried my best not to end this with a corny catchphrase, but it’s impossible to resist. Great Scott!

AARP Not Just For Oldies

Got an emphatic email from Max to write a quick post encouraging everyone to join AARP. Anyone can do it and the most expensive scenario is paying under 20 bucks a year to be an “associate” member. With the current $400 discount from British Air being one of many deals there, Max wants to make it clear – this is worth your while. So get out there and be like an old fart!
