Cards I Missed

I always get a bunch of emails after the Top 25 comes out. This usually leads to a “cards I missed” post within a few days. Yup, this is that post. But not too shabby this time. Just a few misses, and most of those were with cashback cards.

  • The American Express Fidelity Investments card is now offering 5,000 points (worth $50) for spending $500. This is a 2% cashback card, and you do need a Fidelity account to get started. Basic, no-minimum accounts work fine.
  • Another Amex cashback card (SimplyCash) is offering $250 for spending $5,000 in 6 months. Highlights include 5% at office stores and 3% at your selected category.
  • The BB&T Spectrum card is yet another interesting cashback option. Pretty limited states and I don’t have much experience with this bank.
  • I also “missed” Citibank’s unimpressive Expedia cards. Choose from 25,000 craptastic Expedia+ points (plus gold status) or 15,000 points with silver status. Yawn. Details are at the links. In case it wasn’t obvious, I don’t like Expedia points.
