Incorrect Billpay Question

Shocking I know.

Every once in a while, I’m at a loss for information. My question this time…

If someone has personal experience sending an in-store bill payment that was entered incorrectly by the clerk, please let me know. I don’t have a good answer for this one so hopefully someone else does. What happens when the incorrect payee is chosen and the payment is sent anyway? Does the customer’s money ever land anywhere or is it just floating through cyberspace? Does the customer have any recourse? Looking for a little education on this one. If you have an answer, please let me know. Thanks!
