My New Alaska Status
Got an email about my Virgin America gold status being matched automatically to Alaska MVP Gold.
Considering the Virgin status was pretty meaningless and Alaska’s is great…I’m a fan of that email.
As soon as we’re allowed (January 9th), I’m planning to transfer my miles from Virgin to Alaska. The new 1 to 1.3 ratio is a little off from what I expected but definitely worth considering. If you want to sweeten that ratio, transfer Starwood points to Virgin America first (in blocks of 20,000 so you can get a 25% bump) and then move them to Alaska on the 9th.
