Common Questions – Business Card Success

One of the questions I hear a lot goes like this:

“Hey MileNerd, do you have any tips on getting approved for more Business credit cards?”

Not shockingly, I do have an opinion on this. The first thing that pops in my head is that an LLC helps. I’ve seen this personally and also with many others. Even though you don’t actually need one for approvals, I’ve seen the difference it can make. Remember, the cost to form an LLC will vary like crazy. If possible, save some bucks and do it in a “cheaper” state. No guarantees this tip will help in your case but it made a big difference for me.

And now back to your regularly scheduled recession…

American Status Challenge

Thanks to reader John for sending an interesting link. This is a status challenge with American but seems like it will only work for people with certain corporate email addresses. If you want to do something similar but the link doesn’t work, you should still be able to call for a non-targeted offer.

Weekend Catch-Up

  • A few of you were able to pick up 10,000 points for adding a user to your Hilton American Express card. Didn’t work for me. I seem to say that a lot.
  • Pick up American Express gift cards from Office Depot/Office Max through Saturday. You get 10 bucks off each $200 gift card. Two discounts per transaction. As always, some people are very good at stretching this out.
  • Reader Julie shared this 50,000 JetBlue mile offer for taking out a loan. As always, I’d check out the fees on this type of thing before diving in.
