Amex Transfer Bonus

The latest promo for transferring American Express points is from Hawaiian Airlines. It’s a 25% bonus if you transfer through June 21st. The only other current offer with Membership Rewards points is 30% from Etihad (good for another week).

Get a status match with Club Carlson, more from Qantas when you transfer ThankYou points, and use less Southwest points with this sale.

The first and last ones are simple enough. According to reader Alan, the middle deal goes like this:

Transfer ThankYou points to Qantas this month and get:

  • 30% more Qantas Points  when you transfer more than 1 million,
  • 25% more Qantas Points when you transfer more than 500,000,
  • 20% more Qantas Points when you transfer more than 100,000,
  • 15% more Qantas Points when you transfer less than 100,000.

Big Miles For Flying United

Many were targeted for miles by flying United. Some of you up to 25,000 and a few up to 50,000. Nothing for me but this takes under 10 seconds and is worth a look.

This is one I get asked every few weeks…

“MileNerd, where should I deposit (insert large dollar amount) to earn miles?”

My main 2 answers for you rich people have been the same for a while:

  1. Fidelity – American Airlines here, United here, and Delta.
    • Deposit $100,000 and pick up 50,000 miles.
    • People have been churning these bonuses every 12 months.
    • Keep the money in your account 9 months from receiving the bonus.
    • Can transfer the assets from another bank/brokerage.
  2. BankDirect – Mileage Checking With Interest
    • 1,000 American miles to open the account.
    • Every month you get 100 miles per $1,000 deposited. This is up to $50,000.
    • You also get 25 miles for every $1,000 over $50,000.
    • One-time bonuses of 5,000 to 10,000 miles for using your debit card, bill payments, and direct deposit.

Those are usually the options I recommend. When Citibank checking bonuses hit 50,000, I like and post those offers too.
