Auctions Ending Today

It’s like Ebay for nerds. Some pretty good deals (as of right now) on auctions for miles, points, car rentals, and hotel stays. A few of these are ending in a few hours. Check them out here.

End Of Week Deals

Yet one more triple to end the week!

  • Get $200 Hyatt gift cards for $175. Good deal, but I offered you a better one last month.
  • The ol’ $20 Visa gift card when you buy $300 in Visa gift cards from Staples is back. Sunday through Saturday. As always, you’ll want to use your Chase Ink card for 5x points.
  • The latest IHG PointBreaks hotels are here. These really are a spectacular bargain…value priced at 5,000 points per night, as usual.

I’m Audi 5000 until Monday. Have a great weekend, nerds!

Thursday Three

Another trio today. Busy week!

  • 50% discount on the number of miles needed for some Singapore Airlines flights. This probably isn’t for many people, but it’s a hell of a deal for those who can take advantage.
  • Get 2% cashback buying business American Express gift cards from SimplyBestCoupons. Today only (until next time). You get 2.1% if you want to buy $20,000 or more during the day. Keep each gift card $2,000 or less to get paid.
  • The Capital One Spark card is now offering 50,000 miles or $500. It’s a pretty strong Business card offer. Flexible miles you can use to cancel out travel charges. Worth considering. I might pull the trigger on this one.

Wednesday Triple

  • If you stay at IHG hotels, register your Mastercard and (hopefully) win a prize. You should already be registered to earn bonus points for stays.
  • The Starwood Amex card has a lower spend ($3,000). As always, I’m a huge fan of SPG points. Who wouldn’t be?
  • Get an easy $34 back from car rentals and hotel stays. Just go through Topcashback.

Wyndham Good Hotel Availability?

Many of you have emailed lately with excitement for the new Wyndham Rewards program. A flat 15,000 points for every hotel seems like a great opportunity. I’ve been semi-eager to post my thoughts, but something held me back from a slow motion, arms-extended embrace. Today, reader Rob ensured I’d slow my roll for now, “MileNerd – I tried to book a stay in Kauai with my Wyndam points. One problem. No availability in 2016. I searched dates for 30 minutes. Nada after December.”

This is far from a sure thing. Maybe I’ve just been burned by hotel chains one too many times. So take this one as a friendly “wait and see” post about future Wyndham shadiness. Is it possible that availability at their best hotels is going to disappear soon? Hell yeah. It wouldn’t be the first time we’ve seen something like this (see: Hilton’s standard rooms). Again, this is only based on one email so far. But keep your eyes open…
