Free United Miles For Flying?

A bunch of you “qualified” for up to 25,000 bonus United miles. And by qualified, I mean, you put in your MileagePlus number and luckily it worked. Give it a shot here.

Also, thanks Adam for passing along the better offer from Ritz Carlton (2 free nights).

Thursday Roundup

  • It’s everyone’s happiest time of year….tax season! A couple of the best options for paying taxes with credit cards are:
  • A few of you have emailed lately about the (underrated) Amtrak card disappearing. I’ve been told it will return soon. Of course, as soon as that happens, I’ll post the link here.
  • 1,000 miles from a new program, Copa Airlines. Who’s rich enough to turn down free miles? Not me.
  • I really do appreciate everything you guys send. But, as this is a blog on earning mile/points, I don’t post many paid flight deals. I’ve said it often, but everyone should subscribe to The Flight Deal. They are by far the best source for discount and mistake fares. I know…I say it a lot.
  • Some of you shared increased American Express card offers:
    • A few got 60,000-points on the Amex Platinum from CardMatch. A couple others were lucky enough to get 100,000 points there.
    • A great tip from reader Jon. He said the Amex Platinum Business card offer of 100,000 points is still alive. He called in yesterday and got it on his second try. As always, call  1-800-971-6736. Mention an offer you received in recent months for 100,000 points with a $10,000 spend.

Hard-To-Get AwardWallet Codes

Just posted some more of these last week, but I never seem able to fill the demand. I apologize for the bad system. It’s hard to know the best method, so please let me know if you’re always late to the AwardWallet party. I hate the idea of someone clicking copy and paste a dozen times every month for something worth less than 10 bucks and still coming up empty. If that sounds like you, please let me know.

Spirit $34.50 Flights

Grass is green. Cows say moo. And Spirit is a no-frills airline. I very rarely post fares, but under $35 per one-way is worth sharing. Some very cheap flights for under $70 per round-trip.

70,000 For Marriott Business

The Marriott Business card is back up to 70,000 points. Obviously, this is a pretty strong bonus if you’re shopping for a new card. With the personal version still at the same 70,000, it’s a good time to rack up Marriott points.
