100,000 Amex Points For Platinum

As you know, I’m not a fan of most people who blog about miles and points. It’s a shady group of weirdos who I try to avoid as much as possible. Because you guys send me great deals every day, I don’t need to spend much time at all reading other blogs. Well, a few of you have sent links to this Doctor Of Credit guy lately and I really, really like his stuff. I’m going to add him right now to my tiny sidebar list of bloggers I like. Here’s his really good post about getting 100,000 points for the American Express Platinum card.

Also, 2014 is quickly coming to a close. Doing this MileNerd thing 5 days a week isn’t exactly “hard,” but I do like to recharge after a full year of “work.” I’ll probably do another couple weeks of posts before taking a little break through January 1st. If you have anything you want me to cover before then, please just let me know.

Another Bonus Jumps Up

The US Airways card is back up to 50,000 miles. As many of you know, this is a Barclays card. And what does that mean? Well, for me, it means I’ve had 4 of these cards in the last 4 years. It also means that Barclays has gotten more strict with me. I had to show them some spending to (finally) start getting approvals again.

Last note if you have this card. Once again, it would be wise to check those mailboxes. I got a postcard last week for 15,000 bonus miles if I spend $750 in December, January, and February. Am I doing it? Of course. Have a great weekend!

80,000 Hilton Points

The good news? There’s an increased offer worth 80,000 points for the Hilton Surpass card. It’s from American Express. Spend $3,000 in 3 months for the bonus. As always, you get Gold status.

The bad news? Hilton points still suck.

1,000 Very Easy Hyatt Points?

I’m getting some messages about this and it seems like…

  • If you have the Hyatt card, you might get an email.
  • If you have the Hyatt card AND Diamond status, you will get an email.

The email is a link to collect 1,000 quick points. As always, check spam folders for stuff like this. Personally, I do have the Hyatt card and don’t have Diamond status. No email for me.

Miles For Parking

I’m pretty good with staying on top of big mile/point opportunities, but sometimes lose track of the smaller stuff. Reader Kevin was nice enough to send me this thread on Flyertalk. There are a couple websites mentioned (Preflight Parking and Thanks Again) that people are using to earn miles for parking. Never tried either, but they’re worth passing along. Maybe.
