Amex Business Gold Card

The 50,000-point American Express Business Gold Rewards offer is back. It comes and goes, and is occasionally for 75,000 points. Spend $5,000 in 3 months for the bonus. Read the offer terms about not having certain cards in the last 12 months.

(Yeah, my Uber ban is done. I’m over it. Thanks to everyone who emailed me about code 10r62014. That’s for $10 off a ride before July 10, whether you’re new or not. If you are new to Uber, look at yesterday’s post for $50).

Monday’s Deals

  • Get $50 off your first hotel booking of $200+ from Expedia’s app here.
  • Same thing, but $40 off $100 from Travelocity.
  • I’m pausing my Uber speaking/blogging boycott for good reason – a possible free $50. Try code LASFF144 if you’re new to Uber. It’s the highest I’ve seen (much more than the current $30 referral bonus). Lyft is only offering $25 and needs to step it up.
  • Sign up for 4% cash back at a bunch of restaurants if you have a MasterCard business credit card.
  • As always, credit card offers aren’t written in stone. Southwest just did their usual dance from 50,000 to 25,000 points. Freedom, Lufthansa, and Starwood are going back down today. The Best Credit Card page will show all changes in the July update. Remember, what goes down will eventually come back up.
  • The strong US Airways Share Mile offer ends today. It’s a good price to buy these miles, in my not-very-humble opinion. If you’re new to this one, the description is here.

Taking A Look Around

Because comments are disabled here, I tend to get a lot of emails. No, it’s not a pain. Actually, it’s great hearing from you guys and getting to know some of you. By the way, I always write back (usually within 24 hours). If you’ve ever been “ignored,” it’s because I occasionally lose emails to my spam folder. Anyway, let’s get to the point here…

My point is this. At least 50% of the questions could be answered with information found in the blog. It’s totally cool. I understand it’s tricky to find stuff in such a big pile of posts. But certain things are right here on the main page. For example, some of you regular readers have never paid attention to the sidebar. It’s pretty obvious when I get questions asking what AwardWallet is. So, if you’re on the website now, please look to the right and you’ll see things like:

  • My favorite website for finding paid flights
  • Discounts on car rentals
  • Cashback websites
  • My recommendation for award booking
  • My recommendation for visas and passports
  • And much more

I don’t mind any questions…even the AwardWallet one. Just thought it would be good to take in the surroundings here. If you haven’t done it before, please take a minute to look through the right sidebar. If you think anything is missing, just let me know and I’ll take a look. Have a great weekend!

The One Great Card Offer

“Great” is a pretty subjective word. I know there are many valuable credit cards. For example, getting 2 free nights at a fancy hotel is nothing to sneeze at. But we’re not the kind of people who pay retail. We’re picky. By our snobbish standards, there is one “great” card offer right now. 100,000 American miles for $250 is incredible by any definition. Unfortunately, that offer is no longer being advertised. So if you want another one, you’ll need to skip to the application page.
