If you buy or sell gift cards, you should pay attention to this one. I recently purchased $2,400 in gift cards from CardCash. It was twenty-four $100 gift cards that arrived quickly. Everything seemed great…and then I checked the amounts. Not one of the gift cards had a correct balance. Literally all of them were wrong. Some had no money on them at all. So…yeah…needless to say, I’m not a happy camper. What’s the lesson? Learn from my drama. Stay away from CardCash. As I mentioned before, I met the GiftCardZen people and was impressed enough to personally vouch for them. Now, if I had just listened to my own advice…
Getting The Week Started
- Grab 1,000 Lufthansa miles for a survey. Your browser should translate to English.
- If you’re in this game for credit card sign-up bonuses, you won’t care much for the new Amex EveryDay.
- Collect 25,000 Delta miles for 5 Marriott stays (works for some).
- Want to buy US Airways miles? Check your bonus. Mine was 100% and I’m still not buying.
Alaska Business Card
The bonus on the Alaska Airlines Business card is up to 25,000 miles. Again, Bank of America credit cards are VERY churnable for some. Personally, I get multiple Alaska (and Virgin Atlantic) cards every year. Links to the Personal card are in the last Top 25 post. Have a great weekend, nerds!
Current Contests
Some of you (a few) like when I post about current contests. I don’t do it often (especially these days) but this one’s for you, contest nerds!
- Win a trip to London.
- Marriott’s Year of Surprises if you enjoy writing.
- Get a free night from Best Western.
- Emirates invites you to hang out with Real Madrid.
- How about a trip for 5 to any Gaylord Hotels resort?
- Enter for a chance to go to Rome.
- Cathay Pacific wants you to go to Hong Kong.
- A photo contest to win $1200 in travel.
Wednesday’s Deals
- Get 10% off from Frontier Airlines with code USWINSGOLD. Book through March 6 and travel by June 12.
- Delta continues to suck, and that isn’t breaking news. More important in my world of devaluations is booking some Southwest flights by the end of March.
- A targeted offer has been going out from US Bank. 40,000 Lifemiles with a $3,000 spend.
- Increased 5% Hyatt cash from TopCashBack.
