That AwardWallet OneCard Thing

That’s exactly what I thought the day I got it in the mail – “Meh, who cares about this AwardWallet OneCard thing?” Obviously, the big majority of you already have an AwardWallet account and know how hugely helpful it is. When you log-in and scroll down on the left side, you probably see an offer for a free OneCard when you upgrade for $10. I didn’t think anything of it originally, but I have to admit, I use this damn thing pretty much every week. Having all airline phone numbers and account numbers in my wallet has been really convenient. If you don’t have one of these yet, it’s definitely worth getting.

Virgin America Trying To Matter

Virgin America gets overlooked all the time. They have a weird mileage program,  don’t fly to many places, and never have amazing credit card offers. But this week has been a little different. They’ve decided they will match status you have with United, American, or Southwest (including those with a Southwest Companion Pass). Virgin also continues to have some great sales on fares. Maybe they’re trying to compete with the big boys. Or maybe it was just a good week.

Searching For Fares

This is something I just assumed I had mentioned before. But upon further review, it seems I’ve had an extended brain fart. ITA Matrix is the best website for searching for the lowest fares. Period. The people who use it (like me) are extremely loyal to it. If you don’t use it yet, get with the program. MileNerd out.

Quadruple JetBlue Points

As much as we hate to do it, sometimes we do pay for flights (usually domestic). If you need to pay, you might as well earn tons of bonus points. Get 4 times the JetBlue points if you book by April 10. This offer was just extended and it’s pretty damn good.

The New Jewel Of Maui

I’ve mentioned it a few times before, but Maui is my favorite place in the world. It’s my idea of heaven, as a matter of fact. My eyes have witnessed beauty in Maui unlike anything else they’ve ever seen. And they’ve seen some incredible things! I’ve been watching closely for months, waiting for the incredible Andaz Hyatt to open, and it just starting taking reservations for September. It’s very possible this will instantly become the best hotel in Maui. It will cost you, though, as rooms start at $500+.

How would a MileNerd play this? Well, if you’re on the west coast, British Airways points are great for short hop flights like this. LAX to Maui is just 25,000 points roundtrip! And if you’re a couple, you can both get a Hyatt credit card. Each will give you 2 free nights at any Hyatt in the world. So that’s 4 nights and 2 flights you won’t have to worry about. Sounds like a nice trip to paradise to me!
