Delta Black Friday Sale

They refer to this one as “The sale of the year.”

Is it really?

Too hard to say considering all the deals we’ve gotten from Delta in 2018.

(Yes, that’s still crazy weird and slightly traumatic for me to type)

Anyway, yeah, it’s another very good one. Plenty of international flights from different American cities. Cash and dong prices are both listed here.

Hotel Deals

Busy week for hotel deals. Kimpton discounts are available now and there’s a bunch of stuff coming soon…

  • IHG and Priceline will have Black Friday deals on their websites.
  • Hotwire has three sets of deals on their page – today, Friday and Monday.
  • Hotels.com starts a promo for website visitors as soon as the clock hits November 23rd. It’s a game where you “scratch off” a coupon worth 7%, 8%, 10%, or 99% off a hotel booking.
  • Expedia has Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals.
  • Wyndham also has both.
  • Fairmont’s occasionally discounted gift cards will be available during a 3-hour window on Friday.

Journal And Some Miles

The there-again, now-it’s-gone, oh-it’s-back, where’d-it-go Wall Street Journal deal is…well, back. This time it’s just a buck for 1,200 American miles. Hard to argue with that $1 price. Make sure to read the terms so you cancel at the right time. Southwest and Alaska are options too…but American is offering the most miles right now.

Sale Stuff

For this week…

  • Frontier’s “we call it a penny but it’s really $14” sale is here,
  • There’s a promo from Air France Flying Blue here,
  • Another aggravatingly attractive deal from Delta is available (premium cabin to Europe),
  • And, of course, there’s one ever-present airline sitting in the corner. Yawning. On the couch in the middle of a party. I’m speaking of the legendary barrel of laughs and luxury known as Southwest Airlines.

Card Updates

A few mid-month increased bonuses…

  • The Southwest personal (Plus/Priority, Premier) and Business) cards are all up to 60,000. Again, it’s a perfect time to get working on a Companion Pass…for those of you who can get those cards.
  • The 65,000-mile link for United should be working for everyone now.  But, yeah, it’s still Chase. Approval just ain’t happening for those of us who apply for lots of cards.
  • Capital One Venture is up to 75,000 miles. Plus 2 Capital One Spark Business card increases are available for big spenders:
    • Cash – $500 back for spending $5,000. And $1,500 more if you spend $50,000.
    • Miles – 50,000 miles for spending $5,000. And 150,000 more if you spend $50,000.
