Fairmont Contest

(Really big thanks to reader Julie for this valuable giveaway. It’s something she could have sold and made a good chunk of change on but she chose to offer it up here. I really appreciate that, Julie)

This giveaway is for 2 free night certificates at any Fairmont hotel (other than the Plaza in New York). Obviously, these aren’t cheap stays. The one fairly big catch is that these certificates expire in 15 days (March 31st) and must be used by then. Because of the extra time crunch complication, I’m going to give both nights to the same person. Please don’t enter if you’re not 100% sure you can use them. Not much time to work with on this one.

To enter, please email the address below. Blank emails are fine. The subject should be, “Fairmont Contest.” As always, I don’t read messages there so please only use that inbox for contests. I’ll pick one random winner at 4:00 PST this afternoon. Have a great weekend, nerds!

Website Feedback Request

I got an email from reader Beth asking if I knew anything about a website called DoNotPay.

The short answer? Nope.

But it sure sounds interesting…

Apparently, this website claims to track flight/hotel reservations and “negotiate” a better deal when the price drops. As “the world’s first robot lawyer,” DoNotPay says they’ll fight for you without charging a cent.

Well, I’ve never heard of it, but I’d love to find out if this is the real deal or not. Great new service? Too good to be true? Somewhere in the middle? I have no idea.

So, if any of you guys take this for a spin, can you please let me know how your experience goes? I’d like to give Beth (and the rest of you) a better answer. Thanks!

Mid-March Sales

This week, the ever-present Alaska and Southwest sales are…present. Also available today are award sales from Delta (if you’re going to South America) and United (if you’re going to Hawaii). Just don’t trust those morons with your dog.

Southwest California Millions

Dear California:

Sure you have a history of droughts, earthquakes, painfully expensive real estate, absurd traffic, gang violence, severe fires, police brutality, high taxes, and Kardashians. Plus that whole falling into the ocean thing. But, hey, you also have the return of this fun daily contest from Southwest. Non-Californians can still enter for 100,000 points here.

Office Depot Promo

Nerds With Inks are getting busy this week. Through Saturday, Office Depot/Max is back with their $10 off promo for $300+ in Visa gift cards. As always, the idea is using an Ink (or Amex SimplyCash Plus) to take advantage of 5 points per dollar at office stores. The best option is buying a pair of $200 cards and seeing how many times you can sweet talk your way into repeating it. In-store only. The people who walk into more stores and make friends with more employees usually do best with these.
