Sales

Spotting Bigfoot.

Watching an amazing Vin Diesel movie.

Seeing Tom Brady struggle through a bad hair day.

Those events are what we humans refer to as “rare.”

Sales from Southwest and JetBlue are not.

But, hey, Alaska is joining the party this week too.

JetBlue Bonus

Some of you are reaching out with transfer bonuses from American Express to JetBlue. Looks like the current bonus amount varies, but the high (so far) is 30%. The low is zero (naturally, that’s what I have). Log in to see what’s showing for you. While you’re logging into Amex, you might as well check to see if you can get an easy 10,000 points for enrolling one of your charge cards in Pay Over Time (here, here, or here).

Extra Diamond

Thanks to reader Scott for sharing a new Hilton page for people who are about to lose their status. It’s meant to be a one-time extension for those who have been Diamonds for at least 3 years (doesn’t need to be consecutive). If your status is ending and you use this now, the extension will be good through the end of March 2019.

Kimpton Time

Now’s a good time if you’ve been thinking about staying at a Kimpton property (or have any hotel stays to make in the next couple of months).

  • There’s the 10,000 IHG points for a Kimpton stay before May,
  • Plus the $60 off $300 Amex Offer that most of us with American Express cards are seeing in our accounts,
  • Not to mention the 25% off sale at Kimpton right now,
  • And the potential cash back (like 9% from Upromise) from going through a portal.

Not bad. Thanks to reader Julia for sharing her deal-stacking thoughts. Have a great weekend, nerds!

United Award Sale

Feels like we’ve been seeing a bunch of these from airlines lately. This one…well, it isn’t the best of the bunch. That said, saving 20% on saver awards to Sydney, Singapore, Iceland, or Portugal is a pretty good deal for the right person. I guess I’m just not sure how many “right people” I know. Economy international flights (especially the ones that typically don’t cost much) aren’t usually the goal for most nerds.
