Non-Airport Car Rental Deal

Thanks to reader Julie for sharing this strong weekend offer from Hertz. Looks like the sale at non-airport locations that we’ve seen in the past. Pretty nice prices (for under 100 miles per day) starting at $12.99 per day. Good one if it fits your needs.

Hertz also just became the part of the SkyTeam airline alliance, so we’ll see what extra benefits start showing up. You already get status if you’ve got anything with Delta.

Edit: Well…it turns out “the past” was a post last month. Damn, I’m old.

Sale Stuff

Quick-fire thoughts on the weekly sales…

  • JetBlue (pretty subpar)
  • Alaska (their sales always seem the same – decent)
  • Southwest (somewhere in the solid-to-good range for them)
  • Delta (great once again – shoot me now)

Marriott Triple

Why not take a second to register for Marriott’s latest MegaBonus promotion? While you’re at it, why not win a 2-night stay at each of Marriott/Starwood’s 29 brands? And then there’s only one good option to consider for this transfer bonus to United…it’s Marriott. Have a great weekend, nerds!

Delta

“Another great Delta award sale? It’s getting predictable.”

I literally just had that thought.

Crazy.

That would have been impossible at the start of the year. By my count, it would have been the 6th most surprising possibility to go through my head for 2018. After the following…

  1. “Why go to New York again when I can eat Sbarro right here in the mall?”
  2. “Lebron James? Come on, he’s way better than Jordan.”
  3. “It’s amazing how reasonable everyone is when it comes to politics.”
  4. “Fingers crossed I sit next to an angry farting guy on this flight.”
  5. “More than anything, I’d really love to know what Kim Kardashian is thinking.”

Anyway, here’s the latest Delta award sale. It’s predictably great.

American Promo

Like some of you, I recently got a postcard from American Airlines offering free status for 3 months. Mine was for Gold and it came with ten 500-mile upgrades (others got Platinum with 20 upgrades).

Really couldn’t have been much easier. I went to the website on the postcard, clicked the status offer, and registered in under 30 seconds. Impossible to lose your way on this one. What’s the point here? Well, I just heard from a reader who wasn’t targeted but was able to get it by trying. Probably a longshot but it won’t take long to find out…just click here to see if an offer shows up in your account.
