Southwest Is Nice
I rarely tell people to look in their inbox for targeted offers.
Almost never, actually.
It’s pretty simple…
My readers aren’t 5 years old.
I don’t like treating them like morons who can’t read their own emails.
That said…
Every once in a while, there’s a targeted email deal I need to write about…
Mainly because it’s so good that I need to nerd out.
This is one of those rare offers.
I’ve heard from a bunch of you guys in California who received it.
And, yeah, I’m nerding the hell out.
Man, this is a nice one.
Just an incredibly easy way to get the Southwest Companion Pass.
(which is still the best deal in domestic travel)
So, here are my thoughts:
If you get this offer and haven’t received a Southwest bonus in the last 24 months, this really is a killer deal. That’s assuming you can still get approved for Chase cards. As always, if you’ve opened five or more personal credit cards in the last 2 years, you’re probably going to get denied.
But, other than that, if you’ve been targeted for this deal…
SERIOUSLY CONSIDER GOING FOR IT.
Westin Ocean Villas Kauai Email
I got a nice offer from this property over the weekend. It’s 5 nights, a rental car from Avis, and 5,000 Starwood points for $649. The only “catch” is spending a couple of hours listening to their Westin Vacation Club pitch. Definitely worth it to me. I shared a similar offer last year (from Hyatt in Maui) and a few readers were able to call in and get it. No guarantee this will work, but the phone number is 1-888-338-5808 if you want to try.
End Of Week Stuff
- Hyatt is entering the crowded world of home rentals and is offering 100 bucks for your first stay.
- If you’re buying a computer, take a minute to check your Amex offers first. A bunch of readers are seeing Dell and/or Lenovo offers worth 10,000 points.
- Big spenders can pick up 35,000 miles from the Starwood business card instead of 25,000 once again.
- University of Washington nerds get 5,000 Alaska miles now and status later (for good grades).
Have a great weekend, nerds!
American Cards Back To 60,000
If I type up a Top 25 on Monday, it’s a lock I’ll spend the rest of the week correcting it…
Citibank’s American bonus is back up to 60,000 miles for their personal and business cards. If you haven’t opened/closed the personal version in 24 months, that road is clear for you. And if you haven’t opened/closed the business version in 24 months, you can get one of those.
