Airbnb Through 9/25

Some Texans aren’t charging anything for Airbnb stays right now. And Airbnb isn’t going to charge any service fees (through September 25th) to the people who need help.

Tuesday Triple

  • Anyone interested in making a hurricane donation can get 5 or 10 miles per dollar for it here.
  • The American Airlines card from Barclays is a pretty strong low-spend option right now. Up to 60,000 miles for spending a buck. Worth considering if you’ve only had American cards from Citibank in the past.
  • Have a Hyatt card? Definitely spend a few seconds to register for a faster path to status. Great deal if you have a few more hotel nights coming before the end of the year.

Good Mosaic Benefit

Many of you got matched to JetBlue’s Mosaic status for the rest of the year. I’ve taken some flights with it and, overall, it’s nothing spectacular. But there is one benefit I’m finding extremely helpful (other than the free booze)…

The prices Mosaic members get charged for “Even More Space” point upgrades are amazing. At minimum, I’m seeing 5 cents per point in value. Not easy to get that with any airline. If you have this status for the rest of 2017, I’d at least take a look at upgrading seats on every JetBlue flight.

End Of Week Triple

Catching up before the weekend…

  • Have I mentioned lately that I’m a JetBlue fan? Maybe not final-season-of-Breaking-Bad great…but they’re pretty damn good as coach domestic flights go. Save 25% of your points on award bookings if you book now.
  • Speaking of favorites, National is back with their One Two Free promo. Basically the only rental car promo I look forward to every year. You can take the survey and get started with a few points right away.
  • Neil deGrasse Tyson should decode and translate this overly complicated wording, but it’s still an easy 1,000 IHG points.

Have a great weekend, nerds!

Bank Of America Hates Me

I’ve been denying this for a few months, but it’s time for ol’ MileNerd to accept it and move on…

Yup, my heavy churning days seem to be over at Bank of America.

Why is that a big deal to me?

Well, this particular bank has been a gold mine of points.

I’ve gotten their credit cards like I was running an assembly line.

Over and over and over again.

Now I can’t get a single one.

Multiple aggressive readers are experiencing the same thing.

Personal cards just aren’t getting approved for us.

The Business option still has mixed success.

Well, that’s something I guess.

But it’s like Bank of America and I had the craziest parties around…

…and now we just sit around watching reruns of The Golden Girls.

Sad times.
