Up to 40,000 ThankYou points for a checking account with Citibank. Go to your local branch if you want to sign up. As always, you can get different bonuses for each tier of account. Citigold has the highest bonus (40,000 points) and the highest fee ($30 a month). Do a bill payment for the first 2 months and you’ll collect the bonus within 90 days. Worst case, you should pay $150 for the points. Not a bad trade for some, too expensive for others. Of course, you’d want to close the account as soon as you get the points. Also, no monthly fee if you’re made of money and deposit $50,000.
A few of you also emailed the same account with a different partner. It also comes and goes…the ol’ 30,000 American Airline-mile bonus. I haven’t looked yet, but I’m assuming you’ll need a promo code as usual. I got 2 different ones from you guys – DTTEZS60ML and DWBXLFT7VF. If neither work, I’ll update the post with whatever else I receive. It’s a good enough deal, but I don’t like paying $30 a month. I’m passing on this one.
