Chase Sapphire Reserve

Yesterday, I was flooded with emails about this. Chase decided to announce the arrival of their new credit card in a strange way. A ton of my readers found it especially “distasteful,” “unprofessional,” etc. It was unusual at best. Maybe Chase heard the response and realized their mistake because the application link was quickly taken down. I think there’s a good chance it will show up again in the next 24 hours. If so, I’ll edit this post with that link. Call me crazy, but maybe Chase will actually announce a Chase card on the Chase website. Anyway, the bonus looks awesome…

100,000 Ultimate Rewards points. That’s double the normal Sapphire card. Plus a $300 annual travel credit. When used cleverly (as always), this will take care of the big ass fee. In this case – $450.

Will post a link as soon as Marketing Fail Central…er, Chase…decides to create an actual webpage for their own product.

Hyatt Giveaway

Only one of these posts left after this.

Again, thanks to the amazing response from you guys in May, I’ve had some good stuff to give away…

Been trying to space these out the best I can. So far, I’ve given out American Airlines gift cards, 13 United Club passes, and free rentals with National. Today, I have a bunch of Hyatt gift cards totaling just over $600. Yes, I wanted to build up in order of value. Huge thanks to everyone who donated these. Here’s the deal:

  • One person will win all 9 of these Hyatt gift cards.
  • As with all of these giveaways, I know a bunch of you will be disappointed and only one person will be happy. It sucks and I’m sorry, but hey…that’s the way it goes. Still a lot better than the other alternative (not giving away anything).
  • One email per person please. Send by 11:59 PST tonight.
  • That inbox is for contest entries only. Other than the winner, no emails sent there will be read or responded to.
  • Send to the address below with the subject “Hyatt Giveaway.

How To Seem Less Dumb

I’d like to interrupt the regularly scheduled deal post for this short public service announcement…

Many of you make the exact same spelling mistakes.

And here’s something I don’t think you really understand about it…

This makes you appear stupid to the people around you.

Apparently I’m the only one who cares enough to share this.

If you learn anything this week, please learn the following:

  • How to stop inserting random apostrophes in your writing.
  • The difference between “to” and “too.”
  • The difference between “apart” and “a part.”
  • The difference between “lose” and “loose.” Note – A winner is not a person who calls someone a “looser.”
  • The difference between “your” and “you’re.” Note #2 – Again, a winner never says, “Your a loser.”

Please learn these basic concepts quickly. Especially if you didn’t understand those last two notes. You really do deserve to be known as an adult with a brain.

This has been a public service announcement.

You’re welcome.
