Last Giveaway

Time for the last one of these. Again, it’s thanks to the amazing response from you guys in May. I’ve ended up with a bunch of good stuff to give away here. Someone recently asked how and why this giveaway stuff happened…

I think there’s something to be said for being a person others can trust. Some of you wanted to share some giveaway items to show gratitude. It was really exceptional. I’m grateful too.

I tried to save the best for last. And this one is courtesy of reader Patrick O. He would like to give 2 flights away to our last lucky winner. Any cabin and any itinerary. As long as the total for each is under $400. Patrick has been doing a lot of grocery store spending and has saved up quite a few FlexPerks points. It’s VERY nice of him to want to share some with us.

Been trying to space these out the best I can. So far, I’ve given out American Airlines gift cards, 13 United Club passes, free rentals with National, and some Hyatt gift cards. Technically, you guys have given them out. Huge thanks to everyone who wanted to be part of this. Here’s the deal:

  • One person will get both flights taken care of by Patrick. I’ll put him in touch with the winner.
  • As with all of these giveaways, I know a bunch of you will be disappointed and only one person will be happy. It sucks and I’m sorry, but hey…that’s the way it goes. Still a lot better than the other alternative (not giving away anything).
  • One email per person please. Send by 11:59 PST tonight.
  • That inbox is for contest entries only. Other than the winner, no emails sent there will be read or responded to.
  • Send to the address below with the subject “Free Flight Contest.”

Tuesday Pair

  • Thanks to reader Babu for sending this Asiana card offer. 30,000 miles and it’s from one of my favorites, Bank of America. Might be a little weird taking a break from Alaska applications, but I’ll live. I think.
  • Take a few seconds to register for Marriott’s MegaBonus. Not the sexiest deal in the world but quick to sign up and some extra points for stays.

100,000 Hilton Surpass Link

Thanks to reader Smitty for sending this updated link. Obviously, 100,000 Hilton points for the Surpass is worth considering if you haven’t had this card.

End Of Week Stuff

  • Heard from a couple of you who already won prizes in the contest mentioned on Tuesday. One picked up 5,000 points and the other got 10,000. Maybe it’s just me, but Starwood contests always seem more winnable than most.
  • Here’s a new way to redeem Marriott points for experiences. A few decent options and a bunch of overpriced ones.
  • The best car rental promo of the year is back from National. They continue to be my favorite choice for vacation cars. I have a few nightmare rental stories but never any drama with National.
  • Radpad is dead to me until they figure out how how to act less like Clownpad.
  • Coincidentally, Rebecca from Plastiq reached out and they’re offering a good deal on Mastercard payments for rent and mortgages.

Have a great weekend, nerds!

Thursdeals

  • Spend 30 bucks for a package of 20 Uber rides in September – Washington DC, Boston, or Miami. Boston costs $10 more.
  • Another very easy 25 points from Hertz. Takes 10 seconds but won’t extend your expiration date.
  • A few of you reached out yesterday with success getting the Sapphire Reserve card by going to Case branches and asking if preapproved. Reader Matt also mentioned his banker directing him to a JP Morgan Reserve card with the same 100,000-point bonus. If you can somehow manage to get both, I’d say 200,000 points is worth a drive to the bank.
