Thursday Pair

Man, these last couple weeks have been crazy. It feels like there are 2 or 3 good deals every day lately…

The Hyatt card was already one of the best, but now it’s better than ever. 2 free nights anywhere, a $50 credit, and 5,000 points for adding a user who makes a purchase. If you haven’t had this card, your choices confuse me.

Lovely to meet you, Virgin Atlantic checking account. I like your twin offer from Alaska better. But 25,000 miles from either airline sounds good to me.

The Price Is Right

I don’t post paid sales often, but this is an unusually good group of deals at once…

  • A great Southwest deal is back through tomorrow. How great? Well, I’m about to book a fall round-trip to Vegas for under $100. Or under 5,000 points, if I go that route.
  • Good one from JetBlue today too. Not quite as strong as Southwest.
  • American’s Reduced Mileage Awards are back for June through September. Most of us have American Airlines cards, so these are always great to see.
  • Sigh. While I’m posting these, I guess I should point out today’s Frontier Airlines sale. If you like shitty airlines, the prices are pretty low.
  • And, as always, The Flight Deal is the best source for new, crazy fares every day.

Tuesday Treats

Yesterday’s deal turned out to be good, but not rock-your-world spectacular.

But if you have another Discover card, you might be able to switch to the Discover IT and get in on this promo. I did it a few hours ago myself.

So what’s the scoop? Well, cashback bonuses are doubled for a year. That includes the 5% categories (which rotate every quarter).

How the hell is 10% cashback not spectacular? Because it’s capped at $1,500 spending per category. Blah.

  • Register for some pretty strong Starwood, Hyatt, and Club Carlson promos.
  • New Delta card offers from American Express are worth looking at.
    • Gold is worth 50,000 miles and a $50 credit.
    • Platinum is good for 60,000 miles and $100 off the $195 annual fee.
    • Business versions are here.
  • Hyatt’s very popular Diamond Challenge is back. It’s different. But one thing hasn’t changed…Hyatt Diamond status is absolutely worth having.

Discover Cashback Craziness

Certain deals seem too amazing to be true.

They often are.

But hey, every once in a while, a crazy deal comes along and sticks the landing.

This one from Discover is definitely in the no-way-they-could-do-that category. Looks like more will be known Monday morning. Obviously, 10% cashback for a year is unheard of. Let’s see what this turns into…
