- It’s everyone’s happiest time of year….tax season! A couple of the best options for paying taxes with credit cards are:
- A few of you have emailed lately about the (underrated) Amtrak card disappearing. I’ve been told it will return soon. Of course, as soon as that happens, I’ll post the link here.
- 1,000 miles from a new program, Copa Airlines. Who’s rich enough to turn down free miles? Not me.
- I really do appreciate everything you guys send. But, as this is a blog on earning mile/points, I don’t post many paid flight deals. I’ve said it often, but everyone should subscribe to The Flight Deal. They are by far the best source for discount and mistake fares. I know…I say it a lot.
- Some of you shared increased American Express card offers:
- A few got 60,000-points on the Amex Platinum from CardMatch. A couple others were lucky enough to get 100,000 points there.
- A great tip from reader Jon. He said the Amex Platinum Business card offer of 100,000 points is still alive. He called in yesterday and got it on his second try. As always, call 1-800-971-6736. Mention an offer you received in recent months for 100,000 points with a $10,000 spend.
Hard-To-Get AwardWallet Codes
Just posted some more of these last week, but I never seem able to fill the demand. I apologize for the bad system. It’s hard to know the best method, so please let me know if you’re always late to the AwardWallet party. I hate the idea of someone clicking copy and paste a dozen times every month for something worth less than 10 bucks and still coming up empty. If that sounds like you, please let me know.
Spirit $34.50 Flights
Grass is green. Cows say moo. And Spirit is a no-frills airline. I very rarely post fares, but under $35 per one-way is worth sharing. Some very cheap flights for under $70 per round-trip.
End Of Week
Rapid-fire rundown of deals I might have missed during the week…
- It’s finally time to change your password and get those free 1,000 points from Hilton. Man, they sure do take their time over there. Sigh. Only Hilton can give a free gift and still annoy me.
- Free Rolls Royce rides in LA. Same thing in New York, but the code there is RoyalRideNYC. Don’t count on promos from Uber…availability usually isn’t great. If you are (somehow) new to Uber, you can use code LUCKY15 for two free $15 rides. They expire at the end of next month.
- Bonus points for new members and possibly others from Starwood. If you have any stays planned before June, give the link a shot for a few thousand extra points.
- Up to 10,000 American or United miles from Kaligo if you need to book a hotel stay. Rocketmiles will still have the stronger offers for many (bonus 5,000 from US Airways or American for first-time users).
- 400 JetBlue points for your first survey. I stopped doing these years ago, but (clearly) some of you are more patient than I am.
- The 500 free United miles promo for signing up at MyPoints is back. It comes and goes often.
- A few of you reached out to say the last day to get a US Airways card before the change is April 12. Not sure if that’s true, but I’m planning to go for another one very soon.
Have a great weekend!
